Sympathy

Hello, I have been busy busy busy.  I have several cards I need to post, but haven't had a chance to get on and do it.  So, I decided to share two Sympathy cards I made.  They are clean and simple for the most part, but they are for someone who ordered them, and didn't really specify exactly what they wanted so this is what I came up with.  Also, in the making of these cards, I realized that I have absolutely no sympathy stamps or sentiments other than the ones I used here.  I have remedied that situation and ordered a very pretty set from Joann's.com, so next time I will be a little more prepared.

Please let me know what you think!!  I love comments!!

Without further ado, here we go:

Swing Time!!!

Good morning everyone,

Well I have been busy recently, trying out all these techniques and folds that I was afraid to do before, but figured what would it hurt to give it a try.  So, here I am with another card that I wanted to try and make.  Not sure how many of you have made Swing cards, but they always looked really difficult to me.  Well I did a you tube search again, and watched several different videos and looked at cards for inspiration on Pinterest.

It wasn't as difficult as I thought, but it was hard for me to make it, because both of my paper cutters don't cut in straight lines.  No matter what I do, the lines are crooked.  So, I remedied that situation by buying a new cutter.  Michaels was having a really good sale and I got one for 9 bucks.  I used my birthday money to get it, among several other things that I am sure you will hear about in the near future *smiles*.

Now onto the card, hope you like it and please let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

Have a scrappy day!!!! (sorry I can't find the link for the inspiration for this card)

Supplies:

Cardstock: White and Real red for mat from Stampin' Up
Stamps: Happy Heart Day (sentiment), Elements of Style (background and bird)
Adhesive: Tombow Multipurpose Glue

Oh Sunny Day :)

Good Morning,

As I said in my last post, I have been trying different techniques and card folds.  The last post was the pop up card fold, well today I am going to show you my finished card for the Sunburst technique.  I love the look of this on cards, but couldn't really figure out how it was done.  So I went on a search on youtube, and found lots and lots of different videos on how to do it, and different techniques to get basically the same effect.  So I watched several then decided that I would give it a try.

I made my way to my scrap box, *whispers* its actually an instant potato box, that I have decorated and use for smaller scraps and half sheets of cardstock.  So digging I went, and pulled out 4 different patterns that I thought looked very good together.  Pink is my favorite color, so my card is done in pinks and greens.  Also, the flower on the front, it was one of my Michaels finds.  They have these flowers in different colors in their dollar bins.  You get like 8 flowers for a buck.  Couldn't pass it up and thought that it would be pretty on the front of this card.  So here is my attempt at the Sunburst technique and I hope that you all like it.

Remember, I love comments, so let me know what you think!!

Love is in the air...

Afternoon, Well in my last post, I told you we were in an arctic freeze here, well one week later, guess what? it's now 60 degrees outside and sunny. The weather in the south is quite weird to say the least. I have been playing around with different techniques and folds on cards. Years ago when I was going to Stamp Club with my Stampin' Up demonstrator, we did a pop up card with the Just B stamp set. I saw one on a blog the other day, and decided to give it a try again. The one I saw on the blog was done in pink and black I believe, but chose to do mine in red, black and cream. I like the way it turned out, and hope you like it too. I will list the supplies I used for the project at the bottom. Remember, let me know what you think, and leave me a comment!!! *smiles*

Brrrrrrr, it's cold outside!!

Brrrrrr, how is everyone on this early frosty morning?  I don't know about where you are, but here in Georgia, it's COLD.  Heard today that it was warmer in Alaska than it is here.  On to warmer thoughts.  Sorry I have been MIA again, but life has been tossing me around and kicking me in the hiney the last few months, with sickness, and a death in the family.  But I made myself a promise that I would be a better blogger this year, so here we go.

I know I am a little late in posting these, but wanted to share my Christmas cards with you.  The weather right now feels more like Christmas so I think it might be appropriate don't you?

Hope you like them even though this year I went simple.  Have a wonderful day and try to keep WARM!!!

Thanks for following and I welcome all comments!!!

Small Treasures...

Good Evening everyone,

Sorry to have been absent the last few days, but I have been busy writing, I have a short story for an anthology that I have to turn in by September 1st, so I am working on it, tweaking and editing and getting it ready to go to the publisher, but anyway, I did take some time out to create a little bit.  This is just part of the set I am working on, there will be 6 cards in all, with envelopes and a box.  Here are what the first three look like, so please be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think!! *smiles*

These are 3 x 3 cards, and will have envelopes to go with them in a gift box.  The other three will be in Purple, Green, and Orange I think.  Thank you for looking and hope you enjoy.

PP158 & a Tri Fold Shutter Card....

Whew, talk about time consuming.  I don't know if its just the card, or me *smiles* but I worked on this card off and on all day long. *wipes sweat from her brow, guzzling down a gallon of water* but I finished it, and you know, when I started this card earlier today, I had no idea that The Paper Players would be choosing the colors that I used on my card.  Is that luck? or what? *smiles again* Anyway, I had made the base of this card a long time ago, and had tried to embellish it, and messed up so tossed it.  Then I immediately made another base, and it has been sitting in my scrap box all this time.  Well I found it when I found the center step base from my earlier post here. Anyway, I decided to give it another try, and honestly, I dont know that I will attempt it again.  I hope you all like it, and please be sure to comment below.  So on to the card *grins*:

There you go, let me know what you think, and hope you have a wonderfully creative day!!

Challenges & me Part Dieux

Hello again,

Well you know how I said earlier that I really didn't know if I liked the card I did before?  Well, after some thought, I decided to do another card using the color combination from the Color Q blog challenge.  I like this one better, and I did add an extra color, so I hope that doesn't dis-qualify me from the challenge, but if it does, I still had fun and like the way this one turned out much better.  So, let me know what you think *smiles* and please leave a comment if you don't mind.

My second cQc#201 Challenge Card:

Below are the supplies I used to make this card:

Stamps: Of the Earth, Asian Artistry

Cardstock: Night of Navy, Coral, Dark Grey, Soft Sky, and White

Inks: Night of Navy, Cameo Coral (Don't have Calypso Coral so substituted the Cameo Coral), Soft Sky and River Rock

Again, thanks for stopping by and have a creative inky day.

Challenges & Me.....

Afternoon everyone,

I wasn't sure if I would be able to do the challenges today, but got up and decided that I wanted to give it a try.  Well, I did a card, but I can honestly say that the base is not my favorite.  I like the way the stamped image turned out, but the rest of it, not sure I like it.  I may embellish it a little more and see if I like it better, but please, tell me what you think!! *smiles* Anyway, I combined two challenges into one today, ColourQ challenge cQc#201 and then the CAS(E) this Sketch! CTS#40.  I like the color combination and the sketch layout also.  There are a lot of talented ladies on both of these blogs so check them out!!  Now for today's card, before the writing starts.

Below are the details of this card.  Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Stamps: Of the Earth

Cardstock: Night of Navy, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Soft Sky, and White

Inks: Night of Navy, Cameo Coral (Don't have Calypso Coral so substituted the Cameo Coral), Soft Sky.

Hope you have a fun creative day!!

CTD254 and a Center Step

I have to say I love the look of dimensional cards, and I love the center step and side step cards.  I had made a couple, one is shown on this blog using the chalkboard technique.  Anyway, off track here, so let me get back to it, I found a blog recently through Pinterest, *holds up hands* I know I know, I am addicted to it, thanks to the dear friend who introduced me to is *smiles* you know who you are *winks.  Anyway, I found this wonderful blog called The Color Throwdown, and each week they post a set of colors and the challenge is to create a card using those colors they have listed, or colors close to or similar to the colors listed.  Well I decided this week I would give it a try and have to say I am happy with the way the card turned out.  Below is a picture of my card, then at the bottom I will list the sets used, inks used and card dimensions. Hope you enjoy it, and please leave a comment and let me know what you think!!!
